I've had two exits from businesses I co-founded. The most recent was a consumer brand called BottleKeeper, which my cousin Matt and I built to $8M in sales in just three years with no employees, investors, or debt.
BottleKeeper ultimately grew to generate tens of millions in revenue, then we ended up on Shark Tank in 2018 (season 10, episode 6). BottleKeeper was acquired in 2021 by private equity group Wind Point Partners as an 8-figure brand with just four employees (and still no investors).
